Welcome to the University of Washington! We look forward to your participation in our graduate medical education programs.
Appointment Agreements and GME Policies and Procedures
The Resident Position Appointment (RPA) and Fellowship Position Appointment (FPA) are the two agreements that detail the responsibilities of the University, the School of Medicine, affiliated hospitals, department chairs and program directors to residents and fellows, as well as the responsibilities of residents and fellows in their role as trainees in UW graduate medical education training programs. It is important to familiarize yourself with the information included in these agreements, as they reference GME policies and procedures, outline fringe benefits for housestaff, conditions for appointment/reappointment, and duty hours guidelines.
A complete list of GME policies and procedures, including those summarized in the RPA and FPA, are posted on the
GME Policies and Procedures page of this web site.

Unless otherwise specified, all appointment and credentialing documentation is to be submitted electronically through MedHub. An electronic application will be generated and sent to you via email. The application packet will include all documents required by the GME Office and should be completed within 10 days of receipt of notification. All paperwork needs to be returned to the GME Office and must be received prior to commencement of clinical training.
Additional appointment documents may be required by your training program.
