Research Opportunities

The Academic Affairs Office oversees  several avenues at the School of Medicine for students to pursue research.

Medical Student Research Training Program (MSRTP)

This program provides  funded opportunities annually for students to conduct research between their first and second year of medical school.  Many students choose to fulfill the School's III requirement through completion of an MSRTP project.

Extracurricular Research Opportunities

The Curriculum Office maintains an extensive list of these opportunities, including "year out" experiences such as the HHMI Medical Research Fellows Program and short-term opportunities such as MSTAR (Medical Student Training in Aging Research).
