Financial Aid

Financial aid is awarded based on demonstrated need.  Applicants must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 28, 2008.  The FAFSA is available online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.  To be eligible for full financial aid consideration, a student must submit the FAFSA.  The Federal Direct Stafford Loan Program (both subsidized and unsubsidized), Perkins Loan, Primary Care Loan, and the School of Medicine Loan are the primary sources of aid.  Washington residents who apply on time will be considered for Graduate University Gran and Graduate Tuition Exemption.  Parental information must be included on the FAFSA to be considered for School of Medicine scholarship and Title VII aid.  The School of Medicine (SOM) scholarship is need based and requires financial information from the student and his or her parents.

The current estimated 2007-2008 resident tuition is $17,427 and estimated non-resident tuition is $41,430.  There is a one-time health/immunization fee of $475.  Tuition and fees are due the third Friday of each quarter.  First year books, supplies and equipment are estimated at $2,154.  Computers are required and this cost may be added to the student’s financial aid budget.  Information on computer requirements and reimbursement of costs will be provided with orientation materials.  Outside employment is discouraged while the student is enrolled in medical school.
