The purpose of the third year track scheduling process is to enable all students who will be enrolling in the third year curriculum to schedule the required clerkships. To enable an effective distribution of students among the tracks, there are four pairs of tracks, which offer eight different sequences of clerkships.
The opportunity to engage in clinical education opportunites at sites throughout the five-state WWAMI region is a unique feature of the University of Washington School of Medicine. In keeping with the School's regional educational mission, each student should plan on taking three clerkships at sites away from the Seattle area.
OBTAINING AWAY WWAMI CLERKSHIPS
- Students who volunteer for the State Track programs will be given first preference for the sites for these programs.
