Dr. MacLaren provides personal and academic advising, oversees the tutoring and counseling services, has responsibility for the mentoring and career counseling programs, prepares the Dean's Medical Student Performance Evaluation, and oversees the School's financial aid policies. She chairs the Student Progress Committee and the Honors and Awards Committee. She is also administrative dean for the Colleges and is a faculty member in the Department of Medical Education.

Michelle Fleming is the assistant to Dr. MacLaren and manages a number of programs for medical students. These including Career Decision Making Workshops, Career Counselor assignments, the USMLE Step 1 Orientation, Match/Unmatch Day events, and the Residency Selection Forum. She works with Dr. MacLaren on the Student Handbook and the Dean's MSPEs, and also maintains Dr. MacLaren's calendar. She also helps coordinate the first and second year orientation programs.

Mary serves as director of Student Affairs programs and as a professional staff member for the Colleges. She manages the first and second year orientations, the Medical Student Research Training Program, Extracurricular Research and Award Opportunities, and the School's chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She is also liaison to the UW Medicine web development group for Academic Affairs.
