Emergency Medicine

OVERVIEW

The Madigan Army Medical Center/University of Washington Medical Center Affiliated Residency in Emergency Medicine is committed to excellence in training highly competent emergency physicians for a career that offers the opportunities and satisfaction in one of medicine's most exciting and challenging medical specialties. Emergency Medicine is a comprehensive three-year program. There are a total of 36 residency positions, 12 per year.

Resident responsibility is progressive and supervised. A highly trained and experienced faculty and a well-staffed and well-equipped hospital system provide excellent support. Residents receive high quality training through rotations in three core facilities and five affiliated institutions.

Daily conferences, weekly grand rounds, monthly research conferences, quality improvement, a journal club, and procedure conferences contribute to quality professional collaboration between faculty and residents, helping to maximize learning opportunities and provide quality inpatient care.
