This clerkship provides a large and diverse collection of treatment modes. Students will help treat all kinds of adults with psychiatric illness in both an inpatient & outpatient psychiatric setting.The practice is complicated by the rural nature of Montana and therefore has had to adapt by utilizing video conferencing, travel and working closely with the physicians in smaller communities.

This clerkship is based at St. Patrick Hospital-Neurobehavioral Medicine Services.  This 30 bed facility offers inpatient psychiatric and addiction service. Students work with adult and adolescent inpatients and in this emergency room for emergent care exposure.  They will participate in and document initial evaluations and maintenance care, geriatric, general, child and adolescent psychiatry and sleep medicine.
