2006 Report to the Community
|
Dear Friends,
At Harborview Medical Center, we are guided by our unwavering commitment to our mission and our desire to serve the community. Everyone who walks through our doors, regardless of his or her circumstances, has access to the highest quality, cutting-edge clinical care delivered respectfully, professionally and with warmth and compassion.
Each year, through this report, we have an opportunity to acknowledge the steadfast dedication and support of our partners – our staff, community and donors. We also are proud to share stories of patient healing, highlights of some of our recent accomplishments and examples of Harborview’s contribution to the health of our community.
We know that time spent in a hospital can sometimes be intimidating and foreign. It’s easy to be confused about what’s happening and why. It’s easy to feel that decisions are being made without enough patient or family participation.
That’s not acceptable to us. That’s why we’re increasing our efforts to design a more patient and family-centered care environment. Our goal is to increase patient and family involvement in treatment decisions, better acknowledge their emotional needs and respond more quickly and completely to concerns and questions. We want patients and families to feel supported throughout their stay or visit.
During this exciting time at Harborview, many accomplishments deserve special mention. This year we have: |
