Dental Insurance
UWP offers our providers dental coverage administered through Washington Dental Service.

Retirement Programs
UW Physicians offers a two-tiered retirement program, which consists of a mandatory employer-funded plan (Pension Plan) and an optional employee-funded plan (Tax Deferred Annuity Plan).

Long-Term Disability
Employer funded income replacement protection in the event that you are unable to work due to illness or injury on a long term basis.

Life and AD&D Insurance
Employer funded  benefit up to a maximum of $50,000.

Flexible Benefit Plan
There are three components of the Flexible Benefits plan: Insurance Premium Plan, Health Care Expense Reimbursement Plan and Dependent Care Reimbursement Plan.  Participation in the plans will allow you to pay for certain defined medical/dental and/or dependent care expenses using "pre-tax" dollars deducted from your paychecks.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The EAP is a no cost, confidential resource that offers counseling and guidance for you and/or members of your family.  Available 24 hours a day, the EAP counseling staff have years of experience and can help with a variety of work and/or family life issues.

Paid Time Off
UWP providers are granted a total of five weeks of paid time off each fiscal year.  The actual number of days they are granted is based on the number of days they work per week.

In addition, all providers also receive one "floating" holiday.

Paid Holidays
UW Medicine Neighborhood Clinics and offices will be closed on recognized holidays only, and only physicians with "call" responsibilities will be expected to work.  Our recognized holidays are:
  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
In addition to the six holidays listed above, UWP providers also receive a cultural diversity holiday.

Extended Illness Bank
Extended Illness Bank is available to providers after the third day away from work due to illness (your own, or that of a child, spouse/partner, etc.).  Eligible providers earn EIB at a rate proportional to the number of hours worked.  Full time employees earn .5 hours per month (6 days per year).

Dues and Fees
Renewal fees for DEA and WA State Medical/Professional licenses are reimbursed by UW Physicians.  UW Physicians also pays the membership fees for the King County Medical Society and the Washington State Medical Association.

UW Medicine Neighborhood Clinics will cover one annual membership to a state or national academy appropriate to the providers specialty.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)
Each UWP physician at UW Medicine Neighborhood Clinics is required to meet continuing medical education requirements.  The current required level is 50 hours each year consisting of  AMA Category 1 or AAFP Prescribed hours (or equivalent).  UWP reimburses CME at a rate of $2200/year for physicians; $1500/year for mid-level providers.
