UW Medical Center among the top dozen hospitals in the nation
UW Medical Center, has been rated among the top dozen hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report 2007. It is among only 18 hospitals making the Honor Roll for exceptional breadth of excellence in many specialties. UW Medical Center is a leading referral hospital for the Pacific Northwest.

UW Medical Center received a 2007 Washington State Quality Award at the Leadership level. WSQA, the nonprofit authorized by the Legislature to grant the awards, uses Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence and has recognized high-performing organizations for 13 years.
UWMC was recognized for its world-class specialty and primary care services, and a leadership team committed to setting new standards for performance and patient outcomes. The medical center was also singled out for its leadership in using the PASCO accountability model that strives for benchmark performance in patient safety, access, satisfaction, cost and outcomes. In addition, UWMC staff were recognized for embracing the three-part mission of patient care, education and research through an organizational commitment and an expectation of learning and growing to best meet the needs of patients and the communities we serve.
