Service League Committees

As a volunteer you are invited to serve on one or more Service League committees.

The 10 committees of the UW Medical Center Service League benefit the medical center in a variety of ways. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in the important work of these groups.

  • Art Liaison Committee connects the UW Medcial Center Art Program with the Service League Board.
  • Community Relations Committee provides public relations for the Service League and its board.
  • Executive Committee addresses policy and planning issues for the Service League and advises the Service League president.
  • Finance Committee oversees Service League finances, presents an annual budget, and assures that financial records are maintained.
  • Gift Shop Committee oversees the operation and supports the needs of the Service League Gift Shop and espresso bars.
  • Grants Review Committee evaluates UW Medical Center's unfunded needs as stated in grant requests and allocates Service League funds to benefit patient care enhancement.
  • Nominating Committee seeks out, interviews and selects a slate of nominees for the Service League offices.
  • Social Services Committee oversees the financial commitment, manages and evaluates on-going in-house projects and programs, researches and assists with creating new projects, and acts as liaison to Social Work personnel.
  • Special Projects Committee reviews and evaluates new projects which require funding greater than available through the annual grants process.
  • Volunteer Liaison Committee acts as a liaison between the Service League board, its member volunteers, and the Volunteer Services Department, interpreting Service League policy where appropriate. It establishes and encourages communication between the members, their board, and the Volunteer Services Department.
