Once you have decided to become a volunteer at UW Medical Center it is easy to get started.
Call 206-598-4218 to schedule an Information Meeting with the Volunteer Manager. Information Meetings are designed to answer your questions about volunteering and to review the steps and requirements of becoming a volunteer at UWMC. (For your convenience, meetings take place several times each week.)
At the Information Meeting you will:
- Fill out an application.
- Review available positions.
- Interview with Volunteer Manager.
- Commit to 4 hours a week for at least 3 months.
Once you have attended an Information Meeting, the next steps are:
- Meet with the assigned department.
- Attend required medical center orientation
- Complete training with assigned department.
- Be screened for Tuberculosis and complete an immunization review.
- Complete a Washington State Patrol Check.
