Volunteering at University of Washington Medical Center

UW Medical Center volunteers are valued members of the health-care team who assist patients, families and guests. Through their generous contribution of time, volunteers add to the quality of care and service provided to our patients.

About Us

Since 1959, UW Medical Center patients, families, guests, and staff have benefited tremendously from the commitment of men and women who have been part of a dedicated volunteer team. More than 1,400 men and women, ages 14 and over, give more than 100,000 hours of service each year in over 60 different roles throughout UW Medical Center and UW Medical Center at Roosevelt.

Volunteers come from throughout the greater Seattle community. They are professionals, retirees, college students and teens. Each give at least four hours per week for a minimum of three months serving the needs of those who seek their health care at UWMC.
