News, Community Relations and Marketing (NCR) is the central point of contact for news reporters for the five schools of the health sciences: the schools of dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and public health and community medicine, and for UW Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center, the two teaching hospitals for UW Medicine.
NCR publishes information, in print and on the Web, about activities, issues, achievements, and the extraordinary research at the UW Health Sciences Center. NCR also prepares materials for the public and health-care professionals on the outstanding patient care services at UW Medicine. The office also organizes special major events and conducts community outreach.
The media relations staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to breaking news, to help reporters to contact faculty experts, to arrange interviews, and to assist news organizations in gathering information.
