Airlift Northwest is pleased to offer a
membership program that provides residents in communities in South East Alaska and Washington with high-quality air medical service at an affordable cost.
The AirCare membership program directly helps fund Airlift Northwest, so we can continue to transport critically ill or injured adults, newborns, pregnant mothers at risk, and heart attack or stroke victims.
Air medical transportation
When you or a family member is seriously ill or injured, the attending physician or emergency response team may determine that air medical transportation is needed. While the on-site medical team continues its expert care, the Airlift Northwest
24-hour ComCenter receives instructions on where you need to be transported for the care you need. Weather permitting, Airlift Northwest responds within minutes.
You and your family are in good hands. Our nurses can care for all types of critically ill or injured patients, from acute cardiac conditions to multiple traumas to obstetrical emergencies. We meet and exceed all standards of care for air medical services and are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical
Transport Services
Our
aviation partners — Aero Air and Air Methods Corporation—provide all aviation services, including the pilots and mechanics with the expertise to keep us all safe.
Cost
The
AirCare membership costs $79 a year in Washington and $99 for South East Alaska and covers all members of your household. There is no need to carry a membership card. Your membership information is logged into our system and is displayed on flight records.
Medicare and some insurance policies may provide partial coverage for air ambulance transport charges, but many do not.
As part of membership, the portion of the Airlift Northwest bill that isn’t covered by insurance or Medicare is paid when Airlift Northwest is requested by a medical facility or an emergency response team to fly a critically ill or injured patient to appropriate medical care. The billers will not send you a bill but will bill your insurance.
Reciprocal partners
Airlift Northwest AirCare is also a member of the Association of Air Medical Membership Programs (AAMMP), so Airlift Northwest AirCare membership benefits extend to reciprocal programs in our region based in California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Eastern Washington.
This means that if you are a member of Airlift Northwest AirCare, AAMMP members in other states will honor that membership when transport is medically necessary.
If you are transported by a reciprocating program, the membership benefits will be based on the reciprocating program, which may vary from Airlift Northwest AirCare benefits. Some of our reciprocal partners include:

- CalStar (Hayward)
- Enloe FlightCare (Chico)
