The Resource Center at Harborview offers a healing and supportive environment. It provides information about general wellness and specific illnesses and injuries. As part of UW Medicine, it also offers a wide variety of health education classes and support groups.
Center staff helps connect clients with resources – from nearby lodging, laundry services and restaurants to social services – at Harborview, UW Medicine and in the community. The center offers computers with e-mail and Internet access, as well as a fax machine and copier. Wireless internet access is also available at Harborview.
The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. It is located on the ground floor of the Center Tower wing, near the outpatient pharmacy and gift shop.
A free internet service called CaringBridge is also available to help families, friends and loved ones stay in touch during times of crisis.

Looking for a bite to eat? Harborview’s full-service cafeteria facility is located on the basement floor of the West Hospital and serves a range of foods for breakfast, lunch and snacks. For lighter fare, the Ninth Avenue Café in the Norm Maleng building serves sandwiches and coffee drinks. Open 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays. An ATM is located in the Ninth Avenue lobby of the main hospital building.

Visiting hours are based on specific units and the condition of the patient. Each nursing station can give specific advice regarding the best times for visits to a specific patient. Quiet time is from 8am-10am daily during which telephone calls are not transferred to the rooms, but in person visits are allowed.
