Once you have decided to become a volunteer at UW Medical Center, call 206.598.4218 to schedule an information meeting with the volunteer manager. Information meetings, which take place several times a week, are designed to answer your questions about volunteering and to review the steps and requirements of becoming a volunteer at UWMC.
At the meeting, you will fill out an application, review available positions, interview with the volunteer manager and commit to volunteering four hours a week for at least three months.
Once you have attended an information meeting, you will meet with the department to which you have been assigned, attend the required medical center orientation and complete training with your department. You also will be screened for tuberculosis, complete an immunization review and complete a Washington State Patrol background check.
