Our staff

Improving your sight is our mission and our passion. Our professional staff are members of the UW Medicine Eye Institute, one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest and most respected ophthalmology groups.

Dr. James Toop, our staff optometrist, performs complete eye exams, refractions and contact lens fittings. He has practiced in Seattle since 1989, prescribing corrective lenses for thousands of people. Dr. Toop was one of just three optometrists recognized by Seattle Metropolitan magazine in its “Top Doctors 2009” issue.

Dr. Toop specializes in fitting contact lenses for all refractive errors, including large degrees of astigmatism. He is also expert at fitting contact lenses for unusual eye diseases.

Cathy and Lina, our licensed opticians, will help you find frames that match your desires and fit you well. They educate customers about available options such as transitional lenses – we offer the most up-to-date technology available – and UV protection. For eyeglasses or contact lenses, if something isn’t quite right, they will make the adjustments you need to be comfortable and to see your best.

Amor is our ophthalmic technician. She works with Dr. Toop, taking patient histories and initial refractive measurements, and teaching patients how to wear contact lenses. She is eager to ensure that wearers of contact lenses, particularly children and first-timer adults, have a good experience.

Ramona, our patient-services representative, will check you in and help you understand your insurance coverage.

Great deals

  • We offer a two-year, unlimited warranty with the purchase of any pair of anti-reflective coating lenses. We will replace your eyeglass lenses at no charge if they scratch, chip or break in that time.
