Sports & Spine
Welcome to UW Medicine Sports & Spine. We know what you want:
  • physicians who listens to your concerns;
  • physicians with a wide range of diagnostic abilities; and
  • physicians who work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan.
Our medical specialty is Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. We are a group of non-surgical experts in conditions such as spinal pain, sports injuries, musculoskeletal pain, sports concussions, and injuries resulting from automobile and work accidents.
Our patients rely on us to provide thorough and thoughtful evaluations, and to treat their conditions with the goals of controlling their pain and improving their function. With extensive expertise and knowledge of innovative science, UW Medicine Sports & Spine has developed an outstanding reputation in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Our specialists work closely with other physicians and therapists to develop a team approach, always keeping you, the patient, at the center of the team.

We help patients of all ages return to their chosen activities: enjoying the outdoors, athletics, family activities, travel and working. Our philosophy is to be conservative, focusing first on exercise and activity as the mainstays of rehabilitation. However, we are very knowledgeable about medication management, injections and other interventions. We also recognize when surgical care is appropriate, we would work closely with you and your surgeon to offer a smooth and comfortable transfer of care.

Each specialist at UW Medicine Sports & Spine is board-certified and many of us have advanced training. We focus on one patient at a time and give complete attention to your recovery. We do our best to accommodate your needs and are usually able to schedule new appointments within 10 days. We know that, as a consumer of healthcare, you have choices. We aim to make that choice easier.
