The Third Avenue Center is designed to work intensively with those who are homeless. Many will eventually transition to a more traditional outpatient clinic either in downtown Seattle or another neighborhood. Services are provided by two mid-level practitioners, a registered nurse, an attending physician, a mental health counselor, and a psychiatrist.
Services include:
- Health assessments and screenings
- Women’s healthcare, including PAP tests.
- Podiatry clinic held once a week.
- Mental health and substance abuse screening, treatment, and referrals.
- Linkages to disability benefits, food stamps, Medicaid, and other supports.
- Assessment and referral into a Medical Respite (recuperation) bed. Women’s beds are at Angeline’s Day Center and men’s beds are at the William Booth Center.
- Standard for health education and full services UW Medicine.
