General Internal Medicine Center

Care Providers

The General Internal Medicine Center is composed of three care teams (Team A, Team B, and Team C) consisting of medical assistants, patient service representatives, registered nurses, physicians, and nurse practitioners who work together to provide coordinated care to their team’s patients. 

Among our providers are medical residents, registered nurse practitioners, and attending physicians.  Medical residents are licensed physicians in the postgraduate period who see primary care patients for up to four years in this clinic. Advanced registered nurse practitioners (ARNPs) are registered nurses with advanced training who function as independent health-care providers.

Availability of attending physicians for new patient appointments is quite limited. Because one of our primary missions is medical education, most of the attending physicians’ new patient appointments are in conjunction with a medical student.
