The University of Washington has been a pioneer in the development of cardiac diagnostic tests and treatments since the 1960s.
Drs. B. Fendley Stewart and Eugene Yang provide cardiology services at the UW Medicine Eastside Specialty Center and are on the faculty of the University of Washington's Division of Cardiology, part of the UW Medicine Regional Heart Center.
The Eastside cardiology service offers consultations and medical care for a wide variety of heart problems including
- coronary heart disease
- arrhythmias
- valve disease and
- hypertension.
Our ESC Echocardiography Service offers comprehensive diagnostic exams including transthoracic echo (TTE) and treadmill stress echo (TME) on site.
Dr. B. Fendley Stewart has a special interest in the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease including the treatment of cholesterol abnormalities, hypertension, and the metabolic syndrome. Preventive services include access to cholesterol, C-reactive protein (CRP), and calcium scoring tests.
Dr. Eugene Yang's expertise is in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, congestive heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, and lipid disorders.
