UW Medical Center’s Neurosurgery staff has pioneered treatments in the care and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves.
Dr. Virany Hillard, a neurosurgeon, helps manage patients’ complex neurosurgical problems. In Seattle and at the UW Eastside Specialty Center, Hillard sees patients with spine problems such as ruptured disks, tumors, deformities, abnormal bone growths, osteoporosis, and other back and neck problems. She also counsels patients on nonsurgical options – physical therapy, medications, exercises, braces, etc. – while in other cases she recognizes the likely benefits of early surgery.
