Our Diabetes/Endocrinology Care
Endocrine disorders affect many parts of the body. Our patients with diabetes and other endocrine disorders have access to UW Medical Center’s specialty services for eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, blood vessels, diabetes education, and nutrition counseling. UW Medical Center’s endocrinology care was ranked No. 24 in the nation among more than 170 hospitals surveyed in U.S. News & World Report’s 2008 report, “America’s Best Hospitals.”
At UW Medicine Eastside Specialty Center, Dr. Anthony (Abe) DeSantis provides care and consultation to patients who are managing the following:
- Diabetes (type 1 and type 2)
- Metabolic bone disease
- Thyroid gland problems
- Adrenal gland problems
- Pituitary gland problems
Additionally our laboratory technicians can process diabetes patients’ glucometer readings and perform necessary blood work-ups.
We invite patients and referring physicians to set up an appointment for medical care or diagnostic tests.
