Our General Surgery Care
At UW Medicine Eastside Specialty Center, two outstanding healthcare veterans evaluate patients likely to need general surgery, and provide pre- and post-operative care for those patients.
- E. Patchen Dellinger is chief of UW Medicine’s Division of General Surgery and works with the World Health Organization. He has helped develop new surgical techniques that yield better outcomes and shorten recovery times. His clinical interests include general and laparoscopic surgery, difficult and recurrent hernias, surgical infectious diseases, surgical critical care, and bariatric surgery.
- David Flum is a board-certified expert in outcomes research. He focuses on the treatment of patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, and also performs operations to treat obesity, hernias, lipomas, and pilonidal cysts.
We invite patients and referring physicians to set up an appointment for surgical care or consultation.
