The Gastroenterology Clinic at Harborview provides care for patients with acute or chronic gastroenterology disorders relating to the stomach, intestines, pancreas, and bile duct. This includes abdominal pain, diarrhea, heartburn/gastroesophageal reflux, GI dietary disorders, pancreatic disease, and bile duct disorders.
Special Services
- Patient care coordinator to act as a liaison for patients and their health care needs such as scheduling procedures, referrals, and transportation.
- GI Endoscopy Laboratory for special procedures to identify gastrointestinal disorders.such as ERCP (endo-retrograde colangiopancreatography), EGD (esophageal gastroduodenoscopy), and flexible sigmoidsoscopy.
- Registered nurses available for patient teaching in specific gastrointestinal disorders.
Some procedures are done in the Harborview Ambulatory Procedures Area and Limited Stay Unit.
The full services of UW Medicine are also available for other specialty services or hospitalization
Appointments and Referrals
Routine return appointments may be made by calling the clinic (general phone contact listed below). Patients with managed care plans must have a referral from their primary care provider.
To take a referral, please complete our UW Medicine Referral Request (Adobe PDF) and fax, along with pertinent medical records, to the clinic. Questions about the referral process or the Gastroenterology Clinic and its services should be directed to the Scheduling Coordinator (number below).
