The General Surgery Clinic at Harborview Medical Center provides consultation for general and surgical conditions and pre- and post-operative follow-up for these patients and others with traumatic injuries, wound management, suture removal, and patient education.
Minor operations are also performed in our specially equipped Ambulatory Procedures Area, including cyst and skin tag removals, incision and drainage of abcesses, rigid sigmoidoscopies, and hemorrhoid evaluation and management. These will usually be scheduled for a subsquent visit and typically are not done at the time of initial consultation.
Special Services include:
- Post-operative wound management.
- Minor surgeries.
- Referral for further diagnostic procedures.
- Patient care coordination.
- Social workers.
- Registered nursing support.
For patients with specific needs related to breast lesions, please contact the Breast Clinic.
For patients with specific hand issues, please contact the Hand Institute in the Orthopaedics Clinic.
The full services of UW Medicine are also available for other specialty services and hospitalization.
Appointments and Referrals
Routine return appointments may be made by calling the clinic (general phone contact listed below). Patients on managed care plans must have a referral from their primary care provider. Self referrals are accepted in some cases.
