Northwest Family Center

The Northwest Family Center provides comprehensive, family-centered, and culturally sensitive service for HIV-infected women, children, adolescents, and their families. The goal of the Center is to assist families to function at the healthiest levels possible by providing coordinated medical care, case management, and support services in a setting that assists with advocacy, financial issues, housing, drug/alcohol treatment, transportation, child welfare issues, and personal support. The medical care addresses pregnancy and women's health care as well as HIV disease.

Partners of the Northwest Family Center Network include the BABES Network, Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, The Evergreen AIDS Foundation, Harborview Medical Center, the Pierce County AIDS Foundation, Positive Women’s Network, YouthCare, and the Spokane AIDS Network.

Special Services 

  • Case management.
  • Chemical dependency counseling and access to treatment.
  • Mental health counseling and medications.
  • Assistance with transportation, shelter and food.
  • Access to research opportunities.

The Center is a collaborative program of Public Health-Seattle and King County, Children's Hospital and Medical Center, and the University of Washington Medical Center. The center also coordinates care with the individual's primary care provider.

Medical services for adults and adolescents, including management of HIV-AIDS, are provided at the Harborview Madison Clinic.  Medical services for HIV-infected infants and children are provided at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.

The NORTHWEST FAMILY CENTER administrative and case management offices and child care services are located at 1 East Clinic, Room 37, and can be reached by phone or fax. (numbers listed below).
