UW Medical Center has a Cancer Library for cancer patients and their families located in Room 8348 on 8-SE. It is open during clinic hours. Access the library from the main (third) floor of the hospital, via the Cascade elevators in the Muilenberg Tower. The library includes:
- Patient education resources, books, and pamphlets
- Information on local community resources for cancer patients and their families
- Information on UW Medical Center's Living Well With Cancer programs, classes, and support groups
- Computers with internet access.

The Volunteer Service League also offers the Beauty and Cancer Program for patients. This program helps both women and men with their appearance during cancer treatment. Trained volunteers provide assistance with hair alternatives, community resources, and skin care. Key to this program is the wig bank, which provides the patient with choice of color, style, and length and a hat closet, which features a variety of scarves, turbans, and hats.
