All birthing suites include a private bathroom (with jacuzzi), day bed, television/VCR, radio/tape/CD player and small refrigerator. After the birth your baby will be bathed, photographed, and placed in the baby warming unit.

Each birthing suite has a personal jacuzzi in your private bathroom. You don't have to walk down the hall or share facilities with anyone else.

After delivery, you'll spend the remainder of your time at UWMC in a new postpartum room, complete with private bathroom, rocking chair, and day bed. We encourage your family to stay overnight with you. Your baby can stay in your room in a lovely baby crib. The nursing staff is just a call away to support you in those first hours if you have any questions about baby care or need help with the baby.

A television/VCR, radio/tape/CD player, and a small refrigerator are also in the postpartum rooms. If a family member or friend video tapes the birth, you'll be able to watch the tape right away on the VCR.

Our friendly nursing staff invites you to take a personal tour of the facility before you make important the decision about where to deliver your baby. Registered nurses will be with you during your entire labor to care for you and the baby, and afterward, to celebrate with you and provide you support.
