Allen D. Hillel graduated from the residency program in otolaryngology at Stanford University in 1980. He did a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Stanford before becoming assistant professor, and subsequently associate professor and chief of Otolaryngology at the Seattle Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System in 1983. Clinical interests are voice disorders, laryngeal framework surgery, head and neck surgery, and swallowing disorders associated with neuromuscular diseases. Research interests include electrophysiology of voice disorders, peripheral nerve injuries, and swallowing mechanics.
