Sam P. Most joined the faculty at University of Washington in July 2002 as an assistant professor and chief of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, within the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. 

Dr. Most completed his residency in this department in June 2001 and completed his fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in June 2002 at the University of Washington, where has gained clinical expertise in complex reconstruction of the head and neck as well as cosmetic facial plastic surgery. 

Dr. Most earned his medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine, during which time he was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowship and the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Research.  He followed this with an internship in general surgery at Yale University School of Medicine before coming to the University of Washington.  Currently, Dr. Most’s clinical interests include cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery. 

Dr. Most’s research interests are to (1) understand more about the central effects of peripheral injuries to sensory and motor nerves, and (2) use this knowledge to develop more effective strategies for functional recovery after motor nerve injury.
