The Nancy and Buster Alvord Brain Tumor Center at UW Medicine will fund a pilot grant of up to $30,000 per year in 2010 and 2011. The purpose of the program is to promote brain tumor research at UW Medicine.
The center invites proposals with a focus on any aspect of brain tumor research – from basic to clinical – within the following six departments: medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, radiation oncology, radiology and pathology.
Application Process:
Applications will be accepted between March 1 and May 1, 2011.
The advisory board is responsible for reviewing applications and selecting a grant recipient. The award announcement is sent out by May 30.
Budget: $30,000
Grant Period: July 1 through June 30
Grants are awarded for a one-year period. Funds will not be granted for indirect costs. Applicants must be at the assistant professor level or higher.
Applications are limited to five pages: Specific Aims (one page), Significance (one page), Preliminary Data (one page), and Experimental Design (two pages). Please use standard National Institutes of Health format specifications (font, spacing, etc). Use PHS Form Page 4 as the budget page.
