State Ethics Act

UW employees and faculty are subject to a number of laws, rules, codes and other requirements pertaining to ethical conduct, including avoidance of conflicts of interest. All employees of the State of Washington are subject to the Washington State Ethics in Public Service Act, RCW Chapter 42.52. The UW also has a general policy regarding Employee Conflict of Interest. In addition to special rules pertaining to research-related financial interests, professional staff and physicians may also be subject to codes of conduct applicable to their profession.
