Clinical Research Budget & Billing Support Office (CRBB)
Developed as a central office of support, CRBB provides budget preparation, industry negotiation, and billing verification support to clinical research investigators and their staff at the many sites of practice utilized by UW investigators, including UWMC, HMC, SCCA and others.
CRBB is also responsible for assisting UW Medicine with the implementation of uniform and transparent policies at the sites of practice and is supported in its efforts by a research compliance office at each site.

The Solution
CRBB is responsible to help support research investigators and their staff in the implementation of the following solutions for billing compliance:
• Central registration of studies and activity
• Budget tools and resources to identify research-related vs. routine care services
• Consistent policies, guidance and training for faculty and staff
• System to track research-related vs. routine care services to ease billing verification
• Ongoing training and education
Additionally, CRBB is working in collaboration with the other UW support offices to improve communications and simplify the process of establishing new research.
